What is happening for this term???

Our school wide concept is: DISCOVERY

Our Big Picture will be: 'Changes over time'
Our Big Question will be: 'What was life like in New Zealand before I was born?'

Our writing focus will be: Personal Recounts/ Picture Plans/ Cameo Writing/ Recrafting/ Publishing and a particular focus on Transcational Writing: Writing Instructions.

Our mathematics programme will be- Geometry- shape and space (2 weeks)--> Measurement-Length (2 weeks)--> Numeracy (4 weeks) ---> Statistics (1 week)

SPECIAL EVENTS:
-Family Day & Sausage sizzle: Thursday 15th May (Week 2)
-Year 2 hosting Assembly: Friday 30th May (Week 4)
-Queens B'day: Monday 2nd June- SCHOOL CLOSED (Week 5)
-World Environment Day: Thursday 5th June (Week 5)
-Jump Rope Day: Friday 20th June (Week 7)
-Trip to Howick Historical Village: Wednesday 25th June (Week 8)
-Parent/ Teacher Interviews: Thursday 26th June (Week 8)
