MUSIC With Mrs Franklin

We are very lucky as we have been learning all about music and the Orchestra from Mrs Franklin on a Thursday morning. Look at us below learning to play the violin! :-)

TEDDIES CALLING ALL TEDDIES


If Mum or Dad say its ok, bring in your teddies Room 7!


We are going to do lots of talking, reading and writing about our teddies as well as having a teddy celebration!


Our very own "TEDDY BEARS PICNIC" on Tuesday the 28th of October- so make sure you have a teddy friend along then! :-)

Our school wide concept is: CELEBRATIONS

Our Big Picture will be: 'Celebrating being a New Zealander'

Our Big Question will be: 'How do people in New Zealand Celebrate?'

Our writing focus will be: Personal Recounts/ Picture Plans/ Cameo Writing/ Recrafting/ Publishing and a particular focus on writing Instructions.

Our mathematics programme will be- Measurement- money--> Measurement- mass (3 weeks) --->Numeracy (4 weeks)--> Algebra- patterning (2 weeks) --->End of Term Assessment

-'Goblins Tale' performance in the hall: Tuesday 14th October (Week 1)
-Labour Day: Monday 27th October (Week 3)- SCHOOL CLOSED
-Teddy Bears Picnic: Tuesday 28th October (Week 3)

Some of our Spring Artwork

Here are some of the daffodils we created in Room 7 for our Spring artwork.
First we had to draw our daffodils with pencil, then we painted the background. When that was dry we started our collage- we used green paper for the leaves and stalks and yellow tissue paper for the petals. Last of all we rolled up some orange card and cut the edges to fold out like the middle of a daffodil. We really like them as they brighten up our room. We hope you like them too, watch the video to see!
